Start by submitting your project profile and your teaser, sizzle, or demo in:

 

FILM

Any narrative shot using a film camera or digital camera. This includes feature films, short films, documentaries, and story animations.

MUSIC

Any melodic or lyrical piece that is recorded or performed live. Includes Singles, EP's, Albums, and live performances of music at venues. 

SERIES: AUDIO OR VISUAL

Any episodic material that is shot or recorded in sequence. Includes television, web-series, and podcast mediums. 

INTERACTIVE

Any kind of digital content that a user can interact with, including video games and interactive virtual reality.

LIVE PERFORMANCE

Live performance of theatre, dance, or stand up comedy. Does not include live music performances.

Produce Your Work in a Few simple steps

Step 1: Submit your project and Demo to Creative Canvas

Submit your project profile and your teaser, sizzle reel, trailer, short, script, art, and/or demo to Creative Canvas. We'll evaluate your work, and if our producers approve, we'll bring you on board.  

Step 2: Fan Campaign

One of the best ways to grow your fanbase is to start a fan campaign on Creative Canvas. We help you set a fan goal, and the more fans that see your project profile and demo/sizzle/teaser on Creative Canvas, the better your chances of success when it comes time to seek investment and distribution. You can reward fans through a lottery drawing once a fan goal is reached.

step 3: Presales campaign

Before we seek investment deals, Fans must donate small sums of money in exchange for discounts for your finished product - or they can purchase merchandise from you. We call this a Presales Campaign, and it exists to prove that fans are committed to your project. If your project fails to reach distribution, Creative Canvas will refund your fans for anything they didn't receive. 

step 4: investment and distribution

After completing a Presales Campaign, Creative Canvas works with investment and distribution partners to lock in deals that are in your favor. Investments can go towards your production and marketing costs. If distribution is reached and fans receive everything promised to them, money collected during the Presales Campaign is released to you and your investor. 

step 5: Events

Sometimes no investment or distribution partner is necessary and you simply want to perform/screen your work on your own. We help you find a unique and affordable venue that fits your needs. Our event service currently allows you to sell tickets for multiple events in Los Angeles.

Power Through Data

There's power in knowing your fan base. Via a Creative Canvas fan campaign, you can discover key information about your fans, such as how many there are, the cities they live in, their age groups, and more. This empowers you in the development, investment, and marketing stages, and can help you to plan better events, fundraisers, tours, and other distribution strategies.  

 

Set a goal

We help set a fan goal for your project that is roughly the number of fans you'll need in order to achieve a project goal with Creative Canvas. Reaching your fan goal means that Creative Canvas can do more when it comes time to fundraise, seek investment, or distribute your work. You can always increase your fan goal throughout the life of your project. 

 

Spread the Word

Write to your local newspaper, create a blog post, upload content to media sharing sites, post to social media... do everything you can to direct fans towards your project on Creative Canvas. Every time a fan 'Loves' your project, you get one step closer to reaching your fan goal and your goal of creating awareness around your project.

 

Reward Your Fans

You've reached your fan goal and all your hard work is paying off, which means it's time to reward a few of your fans. Using our optional fan reward tool, you can select fans at random to win rewards created by you.

Fundraising shouldn't hold you back. That's why we've completely rethought the process from the ground up.

Presales Campaign

Creative Canvas sets a 'Presale Goal' that you must reach in order for investors and distributors to take your project seriously. Fans can donate small sums of money (even as small as $2-5) to lock in discounts for your finished work, or they may purchase merchandise from you that is directly related to the project. If the goal is reached, Creative Canvas will move forward with finding investment and distribution deals for you to choose from; if the campaign fails, your fans are not charged. All funds are kept safe at Creative Canvas until fans receive what they paid for; if your project fails to reach distribution, or if fans never receive what they paid for, then they receive a refund.

Investment and Distribution 

Once a Presale Goal has been achieved, Creative Canvas works to secure investment and distribution deals on your behalf. You'll be able to freely choose the investment and distribution partner that is right for you and your project.

Fans Procrastinate No More

Sometimes fans intend to donate towards your project but forgot because they decide to wait until the last minute. Our Presales Campaigns allow you to select winners of a giveaway prize (a prize created by you) and distribute by 'Payment Rank' (the order in which fans made payments to your project) if your campaign is successful. This gives your fans even more incentive to contribute to your project earlier.

Sell tickets to an intimate, private performance or screening at a unique venue or theater that we find for you. We search high and low for the most interesting venue spaces - ranging from art galleries, rooftops, decorative warehouse, businesses, restaurants,  and more. You can do it all on Creative Canvas. 

 

We'll Find your perfect spot

A rooftop, a loft, a stage, an art gallery, a local theater, and more. Creative Canvas will help you find an intimate, private venue that's perfect for you. You'll be able to choose from multiple options. We make sure that your venue options meet our safety standards and that all local noise ordinances are followed.  

One thing to note is that most venues don't have an extensive backline for bands and musicians to use, so you'll be required to bring your own instruments or rent the equipment you need. Creative Canvas has a PA system, a Subwoofer, monitors, and a mixer, and many of our venues can provide projectors for film and television screenings. 

 

Sell your tickets through creative canvas

Our Event Campaigns allow you to sell ticket packages for your performances and screenings. You can even sell your own merchandise or items that a venue sells alongside ticket packages, which can then be picked up at your event. 

 

Do your thing

Show up and perform/screen your work on the date of the event. During an event, one of our Creative Concierges will be in attendance to check-in your guests and ensure that everything goes smoothly for you!

Fees

Your money should go further. That's why Creative Canvas has created a simple fee structure, and we are always willing to negotiate with you for special cases.

 
 

Presales fee

Creative Canvas assesses a simple 5% fee against the total of your Presales Campaign. Educational projects receive a discounted fee at 2.5%.

As is common practice, our payment processor also charges 3.05% + $0.30 against each individual credit card transaction.

Event Fees

Creative Canvas assesses an 15% fee against your ticket sales for events, performances, and screenings. In addition, some venues charge a 'rental and sales' fee for the use of their space and the application of any other services or sales items. If you host an event at a venue that requires a 'rental and sales' fee, the fee will be applied against the total of your ticket sales. Creative Canvas will collect 'rental and sales' upfront as a Rental Deposit.
